The School District of Lancaster (SDoL) claims to have a budget crisis. Just how do they spend your money? At 5thEstate.com, we promise to dig out details that will reveal SDoL's priorities.

Have you seen that commercial where the man drops the wireless phone bill on the table and the table collapses? Well, the Six (6) inch thick monthly SDoL cell phone bill could break that table! We were shocked to discover that every month, SdoL pays between $6,000 to more than $7,000 PER MONTH! That's right, everyone from the superintendent to secretaries has a Nextel cell phone, for a grand total of 129 phones and a yearly bill of well over $72,000!

This is the latest phone bill dated May 3, 2004. We give the name the cell phone is listed on the bill along with the monthly charge. According to the business office, the first 75 phones pays for the bulk of the bill and then every phone thereafter has a lower cost. The business office also noted that Ric Curry does not have a cell phone even though his name is listed.
